Misi Delivery’s Journey from Startup to Success

Puncak Alam:Nur Ahmad Faiz Mohd Azmi transitioned from running a T-shirt printing business to founding Misi Delivery, a platform aimed at addressing common grievances in the food delivery industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, his venture into the gig economy was fueled by complaints from delivery riders about low wages and safety risks, alongside merchants' concerns over high commission fees charged by service providers. This motivated him to develop the Misi Delivery application, which allows merchants to retain full profits and ensures riders are paid based on distance traveled.

Since its inception, Misi Delivery has achieved significant growth, now operating with 200,000 vendors and about 40,000 riders across various regions, including the Klang Valley, Perlis, Perak, and Labuan, generating approximately RM5 million in sales. Over five years, sales on behalf of vendors have reached RM100 million, with Nur Ahmad Faiz earning between RM300,000 to RM400,000 monthly.

The application was developed by Nur Ahmad Faiz himself, who taught himself the necessary skills through online resources. Despite facing technical challenges and financial setbacks, he successfully launched the platform with an initial investment of RM30,000.

After the application's launch, it took eight months to secure the first customer. Despite initial difficulties in attracting users, Misi Delivery eventually gained traction, expanding its reach from Puncak Alam to other areas. This growth has allowed small entrepreneurs to increase their earnings, as seen with a vendor in Labuan receiving over 3,000 orders monthly.

To further service expansion, Misi now includes Misi Business, Misi Services, and other offerings, launched in August. These services aim to support individuals with specific skills, providing opportunities for electricians, plumbers, and other professionals.

Looking to the future, Nur Ahmad Faiz aspires for Misi to become a leading platform in Malaysia's digital economy over the next five years.
