Papar:Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali expressed hopes for a higher allocation for the 'Program Jualan RAHMAH MADANI' (PJRM) in the 2027 Budget, aiming to expand the program's reach and benefit more people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Armizan highlighted the positive public response and the savings offered by PJRM as key reasons for the government's commitment to continue and expand the program. He emphasized the importance of increased funding from the Ministry of Finance to enhance the program's direct benefits to the public.
The minister made these remarks at the 'Majlis Selawat dan Tadabbur Syukbah' event organized by the Papar Parliamentary Women's Wing at the Papar District Mosque, attended by about 1,500 people. Armizan noted the establishment of a specific allocation starting from the 2024 Budget, which allowed the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living to set targets and improve public access to PJRM.
From January 2023 to September 23, 2026, PJRM recorded 81,455,623 transactions, with annual figures increasing significantly. In 2023, there were 9,244,504 transactions, which rose to 12,826,708 in 2024. With increased funding, participation surged to 27,534,770 in 2025 and further to 31,849,641 transactions by September 23, 2026.
Armizan stated that the rise in transactions reflects the public's positive response to the program, which offers daily necessities at prices 10 to 30 percent lower than market rates. Initially launched as a discount sales initiative under the *Payung RAHMAH* agenda in 2023, PJRM became a permanent program in 2024 with specific funding.
Armizan also mentioned improvements in public access to information about PJRM events. The public can now check schedules via the PJRM website and the *Info Jualan RAHMAH MADANI* app, available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Starting October 1, KPDN will introduce special stickers displaying QR codes for the PJRM schedule at public hotspots nationwide, subject to the consent of premises' management.
These QR codes, when scanned, allow people to view the schedule and locations of PJRM events in their areas. Stickers will be displayed in various locations, including public housing areas, markets, community centers, transport terminals, religious institutions, and business premises.
