Milan: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa emphasized the potential benefits of exchanging ideas at the Innovation Strategy Dialogue in the Milano Innovation District (MIND) to enhance urban development strategies in the Federal Territories. She stated that their participation in the dialogue brings together urban development experts from various countries and serves as a crucial platform for reviewing approaches, strategies, and innovations to build cities that are meaningful for residents.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Zaliha pointed out that several countries prioritize community well-being in urban planning. These countries measure success not just by physical infrastructure but by fostering a sense of togetherness, ensuring mental and physical well-being, and enhancing the overall quality of life. This approach aligns with the goals in the Federal Territories, where the focus is on human-centered development. The C.H.A.S.E City concept promotes balanced growth, viewing cities as spaces for sustainable, inclusive living.
Dr Zaliha also mentioned that while the Federal Territories have implemented various initiatives reflecting these values, there is always room for improvement. She highlighted the importance of exchanging ideas at international forums, which allows for learning from the experiences of other countries and sharing best practices on a global stage.
The minister is currently in Milan to participate in the Innovation Strategic Dialogue, organized by the Alliance for Urban Innovation under the World Economic Forum. On January 1, Dr Zaliha shared her vision of transforming all three Federal Territories into Clean, Healthy, Advanced, Safe, and Eco-Friendly cities through the C.H.A.S.E City initiative.
