Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a forecast predicting a hot and dry spell across most parts of Peninsular Malaysia, particularly affecting the northern region, which is expected to last until January 31.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip, the director-general of MetMalaysia, stated that a convergence of winds is anticipated over Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan from January 29 to 31. This meteorological condition holds the potential to trigger thunderstorms accompanied by prolonged heavy rain in these areas during the specified period.
Dr. Mohd Hisham also urged the public to consistently check the department's official website and social media channels for the latest and verified weather updates. Additionally, he recommended downloading the myCuaca app to access timely information.
