Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued an advisory on a tropical depression which may cause strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the department reported that the tropical depression was detected at 11 am at latitude 6.7 north and longitude 109.4 east, approximately 518 km northwest of Mukah, Sarawak. It was noted that the storm is moving northeast at a speed of 19 km/h with a maximum wind speed of 46 km/h.
MetMalaysia has warned that the tropical depression may lead to hazardous maritime conditions and has urged vessels in the area to exercise caution. The department continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary to ensure public safety.
