MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm Warning for 11 States

Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to hit almost all states across the country until 5 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia issued a warning at 2.05 pm stating that the weather conditions will affect Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu); Penang (North Seberang Perai, Central Seberang Perai, and South Seberang Perai); and the entire state of Johor.

The forecast predicts similar conditions in Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Mualim), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang), and Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman).

Additionally, several areas in Pahang, including Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Maran, and Rompin, as well as Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat) and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin) are expected to be affected.

For Sarawak, the forecasted areas include Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Miri and Marudi), and Limbang.

In Sabah, the Interior areas (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau, and Tambunan); West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud); Tawau (Tawau and Kunak), and Kudat are expected to experience similar weather conditions.
