Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across several areas in nine states, with the advisory in effect until 1 am tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia announced that the warning applies to the entire state of Perlis, and specific areas in Kedah, including Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, and Padang Terap. In Perak, the districts of Kinta and Kampar are also under alert.
The advisory extends to several regions in Pahang, such as Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera, and Rompin. In Negeri Sembilan, areas like Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin are expected to experience similar severe weather, alongside Jasin in Melaka and Tangkak in Johor.
In Sarawak, the warning affects Kapit (Belaga) and Miri, covering Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi. Meanwhile, in Sabah, the Interior areas of Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, and Keningau, as well as the West Coast region including Papar, are also on alert for adverse weather conditions.
