Melaka Contributes RM300,000 To State Police

Melaka: The Melaka government has contributed RM300,000 to the state police contingent to be distributed among three district police headquarters (IPD), said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh. He mentioned that each IPD would receive RM100,000 to be channelled as welfare assistance for the children of serving and former police officers, as well as personnel in need.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh shared these details at the 'Jelajah Wira MADANI: Bantuan Khas Persekolahan untuk Anak-anak Warga IPK Melaka' programme. The event also saw the presence of Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar. The initiative provided 357 children of police officers with school assistance in the form of cash ranging from RM100 to RM150 and vouchers. Additionally, three retired police officers received RM500 each.

Ab Rauf emphasized that the contribution, although modest, reflects the state government's ongoing appreciation for the sacrifices and loyalty of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and their families. He expressed hope that this support would help ease burdens and aid in fulfilling children's educational aspirations.

Meanwhile, Inspector-General Mohd Khalid remarked that the assistance demonstrated the government's commitment to strengthening MADANI values and supporting the welfare of PDRM families. He noted that it would help alleviate financial pressures ahead of the upcoming school session and motivate children to strive for a brighter future.
