Mechanic Fined RM100 for Insulting Toll Clerk at Batu 9 Plaza.

KAJANG: A mechanic, whose viral video depicted him scolding a toll clerk and kicking the wall of a toll counter at Batu 9 Toll Plaza, has been fined RM100 by the Magistrate’s Court for his insulting behavior. Magistrate Nurul Hafzan Ab Aziz imposed the maximum fine on Abdul Rahim Ramlan, aged 31, following his guilty plea.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Rahim was charged with using insulting words directed at Ridwana Umairah Mahadi, 22, with the intent to provoke a breach of peace. The incident occurred at Lorong Toll T22, Plaza Toll Batu 9, Taman Cuepacs, Cheras near Hulu Langat, at 1:38 am last Sunday. The offense was framed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which stipulates a maximum fine of RM100.

In a related case at the Sessions Court, Abdul Rahim admitted to self-administering methamphetamine by injection at the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division Office, Kajang District Police Headquarters, at 9 pm last Monday. This charge falls under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug
s Act 1952, in conjunction with Section 38B. If convicted, the penalties under Section 39C(1)(e) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 include up to seven years imprisonment and three strokes of the cane.

Judge Mazuliana Abdul Rashid denied bail for Abdul Rahim and scheduled the case for December 13, pending the submission of pathology and chemical reports prior to sentencing. Deputy Public Prosecutor Faelly Jeffrey Lanjungan represented the prosecution in these proceedings.
