Johor bahru: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is set to maintain optimal internet coverage throughout the Johor state election, especially focusing on key locations during the campaigning period, according to Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Teo emphasized the importance of stable internet access for the organization of political rallies and effective communication with voters. "I have instructed MCMC to carry out regular monitoring, especially in areas expected to receive large crowds. Good internet connectivity is an important element in ensuring that the campaign runs smoothly and effectively," she stated during the launch of the Pakatan Harapan operations room for N40 Tiram at Taman Kota Masai.
The event was attended by Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan, Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah Wee Tse, and Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Tiram seat, Nor Zulaila Abdul Ghani. Teo, who also serves as the Johor DAP chief, reported positive feedback from voters in the state, highlighting a strong inclination among voters to fulfill their civic duties, including those residing outside their constituencies.
Teo outlined that the Democratic Action Party (DAP) will concentrate on all 17 seats it is contesting, without presuming any to be 'safe seats.' She stressed that complacency could diminish focus, hence the necessity to ensure each seat receives adequate attention considering the distinct challenges each area presents.
The election process will see nominations occurring tomorrow, with early voting scheduled for July 7 and the main polling day on July 11.
