Kuala lumpur: MCE Holdings Bhd subsidiaries Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Bhd and MCE Hengtuo Sdn Bhd have successfully secured contracts valued at RM37.9 million from national carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd. These contracts involve the supply of components for a new car model and are set to span an 84-month period.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MCE is a tier-1 Malaysian automotive supplier that specializes in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of automotive electronics and mechatronic components. The production related to these contracts is anticipated to commence in the first quarter of the financial year ending July 31, 2027.
MCE group managing director Goh Kar Chun highlighted that the project is a testament to the longstanding partnership between MCE and Proton. He emphasized Proton's confidence in MCE's ability to meet demanding requirements as a long-term partner. Goh stated, "With in-house research and development and manufacturing capabilities, MCE supports customers across the full cycle, from design and engineering through to production." This approach allows MCE to deliver solutions that are high-quality, reliable at scale, and cost-effective.
The company further explained that this project reinforces its continued involvement across multiple car models and is expected to have a positive impact on group earnings and net assets per share throughout the contract's duration.
