Accra:MBSB Bhd and Halal Development Corporation Bhd have partnered to launch the 'Global Markets Unlocked Workshop', aimed at providing Malaysian halal SMEs with the necessary tools and connections to expand their international presence.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative is part of a broader effort supported by MBSB through the Global Market Access Accelerator (Glomax), developed by Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF). This platform assists Malaysian businesses in identifying market opportunities and establishing international business connections.
Rafe Haneef, the group chief executive officer of MBSB, highlighted that MIDF's RM100 million market access accelerator is instrumental in connecting SMEs and mid-tier companies with global buyers and strategic partners, while also enhancing their financing readiness for international expansion.
HDC's chief executive officer, Hanisofian Alias, emphasized that the collaboration with MBSB and the introduction of GLOMAX are vital for enabling halal companies to connect with buyers and build strategic partnerships, thus enhancing their competitiveness on the global stage.
The workshop includes sessions by representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, EXIM Bank, and Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad, covering topics such as scam awareness, financial security, and government-backed guarantee schemes designed to support the growth ambitions of halal SMEs in international markets.
