Maxis Fully Restores Services Affected By Tower Fire In Kuala Kangsar

Maxis: Maxis Bhd has fully restored services for customers affected by the fire incident at its telecommunications tower site in Kampung Kelebor, Kuala Kangsar, two days ago.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company stated that the services were restored in stages, with full restoration achieved at 1.03 am today. This includes all services shared via the Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) arrangement.

The company noted that upon confirming the structural integrity of the tower, their technical team swiftly replaced damaged radio equipment. This action restored connectivity to the affected site and four linked sites, resolving the disruption for approximately 3,000 affected customers in the surrounding area and highway users.

Maxis is collaborating closely with the Fire and Rescue Department and relevant authorities to investigate the fire's cause. The company also acknowledged a statement issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on the incident on Dec 28, and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of network safety and reliability.

Maxis emphasized its ongoing adherence to rigorous maintenance protocols, regular technical inspections, and continuous monitoring of its network infrastructure.
