Kuala lumpur: Mavenir has launched a new integrated artificial intelligence (AI) platform in collaboration with Red Hat. This platform enables network operators to offer and bill AI services using token-based consumption models through existing telecom billing systems.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the platform merges Mavenir's AI software with Red Hat's AI and Kubernetes capabilities, running on Red Hat OpenShift. This integration allows operators to deploy AI services on their own infrastructure, giving them control over pricing, service levels, data, and model selection. Bejoy Pankajakshan, Mavenir's Chief Technology and Strategy Officer, emphasized that the platform allows operators to evolve into AI service providers, moving beyond mere connectivity provision.
Operators can monetize AI usage with existing business support systems while maintaining control over data, pricing, and service quality. Chris Wright, Red Hat's Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Engineering, highlighted the platform's hybrid architecture, which enables operators to run most AI workloads on sovereign on-premises infrastructure while selectively connecting to external models for advanced capabilities.
In a statement, Mavenir outlined that the platform supports three operating models: operator-branded AI services for subscribers, AI infrastructure for operator-managed AI grid deployments, and managed AI services for enterprise customers on a token-based consumption basis. The platform aims to help operators create new revenue streams from AI services, offering control over data sovereignty, service assurance, and spending on external AI models. It supports both on-premises small language models and selective access to advanced frontier models through policy-based routing.
The platform also includes AI operations, model management, token charging and billing capabilities, as well as security and service assurance features designed for carrier-grade deployments. Mavenir plans to showcase the platform at DTW Ignite 2026, scheduled for June 23 to 25.
