Pasir puteh: Matteo Malucelli of the XDS Astana Team emerged victorious in Stage Three of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025, covering a grueling 197-kilometer stretch from Gerik to Pasir Puteh. Malucelli led the pack of 118 riders, with the chief judge awarding the same time of 4 hours 28 minutes and 4 seconds to 75 riders who finished in a bunch group.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the top ten finishers included Alexander Kristoff and Erlend Blikra from Uno X Mobility, Manuel Penalver Aniorte representing Team Polti VisitMalta, and Enrico Zanoncello from VF Group BardianiCSF. Other notable riders included Miguel Angel Fernandez and Marc Brustenga from Equipo Kern Pharma, Lorrenzo Manzin of Totalenergies, Vojtech Kminek from Burgos Burpellet BH, and Fabian Lienhard of Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
Malucelli also claimed the Green Jersey, signifying his position as the overall leader with a time of 9:57:59. Erlend Blikra and Aaron Gate, both from Uno X Mobility and XDS Astana Team respectively, followed closely at 9:58:15. Malucelli further secured the Orange Jersey as the best sprinter with 42 points, with Arvid de Kleijn and Erlend Blikra trailing with 24 points each.
In the Polka Dot Jersey competition for the King of the Mountain title, Patrick Eddy of Team Picnic PostNL and Jambaljamts Sainbayar from Burgos Burpellet BH led with 15 points each. Cedrik Christophersen from Unbert Tietema Rockest held 7 points.
The White Jersey for the Best Asian Rider was awarded to Vadim Pronskiy of Terengganu Cycling Team, clocking in at 9:58:22. He was followed by Thanakhan Chaiyasombat from Thailand Continental Cycling Team and George Matsui of Aisan Racing Team.
In the Team General Classification, XDS Astana Team, Uno X Mobility, and Team Picnic PostNL all shared a leading time of 29:55:15. The Aisan Racing Team topped the Best Asian Team category with the same time, ahead of Nusantara BYC and Thailand Continental Cycling Team.
Tsen Ren Bao of the St George Continental Cycling Team was recognized as the Stage’s Best ASEAN Rider, completing the race in 4:28:04.
