Manulife Malaysia Champions New Era Of Health Protection

Kuala lumpur: Manulife Malaysia (Manulife) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the health and well-being of Malaysians through a comprehensive, people-first approach to health insurance. Manulife chief marketing officer Marilyn Wang said this commitment is reflected in its expanding range of health solutions, including Manulife Health Saver Enrich (MHSE) and Beyond Critical Cover (BCC), both designed to provide support at every stage of care.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wang highlighted that these products aim to ease the financial burden of serious illnesses and promote healthier lifestyles for long-term well-being. She addressed this during an exclusive session with Manulife Malaysia and Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY) on Cancer, Prevention, and Protection. The Asia Care Survey 2024, conducted by Manulife, reveals that approximately 45 per cent of Malaysians worry about cancer as a significant future health risk. Additionally, Malaysians report a 29 per cent perceived increase in healthcare costs, the second highest in Asia, and 71 per cent believe employer health benefits alone are insufficient for long-term well-being.

Wang detailed that MHSE offers practical benefits, including coverage for essential vaccinations, mental wellness, and post-hospitalisation recovery support for up to 365 days. MHSE also provides post-cancer follow-up care for up to five years after remission, aiding in monitoring for recurrence and managing ongoing needs. Furthermore, MHSE rewards customers with a no-claims discount of up to 40 per cent on insurance charges for each claim-free year. Families benefit from an annual limit of RM20 million, with the flexibility to cover a spouse and up to five children under a single policy, plus a special family discount for added affordability.

Regarding Manulife’s BCC, Wang explained that it protects against 48 critical illnesses, including cancer. The BCC Booster feature automatically increases coverage by five per cent each year to help policyholders manage medical inflation and rising treatment costs. BCC also offers additional payouts for ICU admissions and long-term hospitalisation, bridging financial gaps so families can focus on recovery.

Meanwhile, Manulife chief executive officer Vibha Coburn emphasized that health insurance is viewed as a partnership that empowers people to take control of their well-being. Coburn stated that by making health protection simpler, more proactive, and better aligned with real-life needs, Manulife is helping more Malaysians access the support they need to live healthier, longer lives.
