Melaka: A 25-year-old man has been placed in remand for seven days following an incident where a teenage girl sustained injuries to her lower back, allegedly from being stabbed with a sharp object while she was riding pillion on a motorcycle along Jalan Tangga Batu.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the remand order was issued by Magistrate Sharda Shienha Mohd Suleiman at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate’s Court to assist in the investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which addresses causing grievous hurt by using a weapon or dangerous instrument. The remand is set to expire on October 27.
Melaka Tengah police chief ACP Christopher Patit stated that the suspect was apprehended at 11 pm at a residence in Jalan Tangga Batu, Tanjung Kling. Authorities have also confiscated a knife, a motorcycle, and a helmet, all believed to be involved in the incident.
