Man Pleads Not Guilty To Injuring Participant At Global Sumud Flotilla Rally


Kuala lumpur: An unemployed man pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court today to injuring a man during the Global Sumud Flotilla rally in front of the US Embassy here in October. Isa Hazmi Zulkifli, 32, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt by punching the victim, Mohd Hafizi Nor Azrin, who was also a participant in the rally, at about 1.30 pm on Oct 2.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zulkifli was accused of committing the offence under Section 323 of the Penal Code. This section provides for a maximum jail term of one year or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction. The court fixed bail at RM1,300 with one surety and set February 12 for mention of the case.
