Bayan Lepas: A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening a technician with a parang after becoming upset upon seeing a stranger in his house at Solok Sungai Ara 2, Bayan Lepas, on Tuesday. Barat Daya district police chief ACP Sazalee Adam stated that the 33-year-old man was detained following a report from a 21-year-old technician employed by a home appliance company.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim had just finished servicing a water dispenser at the suspect’s house when he was confronted by the suspect, who brandished a parang and issued a serious threat. The technician, fearing for his safety, promptly left the premises and lodged a police report.
The preliminary investigations indicated that the incident was due to a miscommunication between the suspect and his wife. The suspect’s wife had not informed him about the technician’s scheduled visit, which led to the suspect’s aggressive reaction upon encountering an unfamiliar individual in his home.
Sazalee confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. Police are continuing their investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
