Malaysia’s Hylo Open 2026 Campaign Ends in Semi-Finals

Saarbrucken:Malaysia's participation in the Hylo Open 2026 concluded in the semi-finals as the national men's doubles pair Aaron Tai-Yap Roy King and the professional mixed doubles team Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing were unable to secure a spot in the finals in Saarbrucken, Germany.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King missed an opportunity to advance after losing their lead in the opening game against Denmark's Christian Faust Kjaer-Rasmus Kjaer. The Malaysian pair was defeated with scores of 21-18, 15-21, 18-21 in a 59-minute match held at the Saarlandhalle.

Meanwhile, the mixed doubles team of Hoo Pang Ron and Lai Pei Jing narrowly missed out on a second consecutive final appearance. They put up a strong fight against the second-seeded French duo Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue but ultimately fell with scores of 20-22, 21-16, 17-21 in a match that lasted 70 minutes.

This defeat dashed their hopes of replicating their previous performance at the French Open 2026, where they finished as runners-up after being defeated by China's world number one pair Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping with scores of 10-21, 13-21.
