Kuala lumpur: Malaysia’s crude palm oil (CPO) production experienced a significant increase, rising 11.02 per cent month-on-month (m-o-m) to reach 2.04 million tonnes in October 2025 from 1.84 million tonnes in September 2025, as reported by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, palm oil exports also saw an upsurge, growing by 18.58 per cent to 1.69 million tonnes from 1.43 million tonnes in the preceding month. The MPOB’s Performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry report for October 2025 highlighted that palm kernel output rose by 10.50 per cent m-o-m to 477,775 tonnes from 432,409 tonnes in September. Additionally, crude palm kernel oil production increased by 6.76 per cent to 210,529 tonnes from 197,197 tonnes, while palm kernel cake output rose 6.14 per cent to 229,765 tonnes from 216,465 tonnes.
CPO inventories saw a rise of 16.55 per cent, reaching 1.47 million tonnes in October from 1.26 million tonnes a month earlier. However, processed palm oil stocks fell by 9.53 per cent to 990,766 tonnes from 1.09 million tonnes. The total palm oil inventories increased by 4.44 per cent to 2.46 million tonnes in October from 2.36 million tonnes in September, according to MPOB.
In contrast, palm kernel oil exports decreased by 14.49 per cent to 100,491 tonnes from 117,520 tonnes, and palm kernel cake exports declined by 15.30 per cent m-o-m to 217,177 tonnes from 256,412 tonnes. Despite these declines, oleochemical exports rose by 8.19 per cent m-o-m to 254,265 tonnes from 235,024 tonnes. Meanwhile, biodiesel exports faced a significant drop, plunging 67.62 per cent to 11,318 tonnes from 34,958 tonnes.
MPOB also noted that there were no CPO imports in October, while total palm kernel oil imports surged by 53.52 per cent m-o-m to 8,695 tonnes from 5,664 tonnes in September.
