Singapore: Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd (Malaysian Re) has secured two major accolades at the Insurance Asia Awards 2025 in Singapore, reinforcing its strong standing in the ASEAN reinsurance landscape.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysian Re stated that it was conferred the Editor’s Choice: Asian Reinsurance Excellence Award for Outstanding Growth, as well as the Training and Development Initiative of the Year-Malaysia. MNRB Holdings Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary highlighted that these awards are a testament to its exceptional performance, marked by a record gross written premiums or contribution of RM2.5 billion for the financial year ended 2024.

The achievement cements Malaysian Re’s position among the top ASEAN reinsurers. The recognition also underscores the success of its strategic business remodelling initiative launched in 2021, which focused on diversification and enhanced resilience to natural catastrophes exposures. Malaysian Re’s solid financial strength, consistently affirmed by leading credit rating agencies, was also a contributing factor in this recognition.

Malaysian Re president and chief executive officer Ahmad Noor Azhari Abdul Manaf expressed that the awards were a reflection of the resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment of the Malaysian Re team.
