Malaysian Karst Heritage Exhibition Opens at National Museum

Kuala Lumpur:The Ministry of National Unity, through the Department of Museums Malaysia, has launched the Malaysian Karst Heritage Exhibition at the National Museum. The exhibition aims to enhance public awareness about the importance of preserving caves and karst landscapes as integral parts of the country's natural heritage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang stated that the exhibition, which runs until December 31, highlights the geological wonders, biodiversity, archaeological discoveries, and the historical and cultural significance of Malaysia's caves and rock formations. These landscapes, existing for millions of years, hold traces of life, history, and heritage crucial to understanding the nation's story.

The minister emphasized the exhibition's role in raising awareness about the geological, biodiversity, and archaeological value of these natural formations. He noted that strengthening conservation efforts is vital for the advancement of science, education, history, culture, and tourism.

Furthermore, Aaron expressed the government's commitment to revitalizing museums as knowledge centers, ensuring that Malaysia's heritage remains relevant and appreciated by present and future generations. He urged the public to visit the exhibition with their families to explore and appreciate the nation's unique heritage that has developed over millions of years.
