Malaysian Juniors Ride To Fifth Spot In Endurance World C’ship In Romania

Buftea: Malaysia’s young equestrian team finished fifth out of 28 countries in the FEI Endurance World Championships for Young Riders and Juniors in Buftea, Romania, today. The Malaysian team recorded an overall time of 21 hours, 5 minutes, and 58 seconds (21:06:58s), with four out of their five riders completing the prestigious event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Athif Haidar, astride Djawad Du Barthas, emerged as the country’s best rider when he completed the challenge in 21st place, followed by Ahmad Haziq Farhan Ahmad Faris (Gentleman Valarbin Aa) in 22nd spot. The other two Malaysian riders to complete the race were Wan Nur Irdina Aisya Wan Mohd Kamaluddin (Gondor De La Fichade) in 28th place and Abdullah Faqeh Muhammad (Fujairah Du Roc’h) in 29th spot.

However, Malaysia’s other representative, Muhammad Nurhan Fawwaz Nurhairi, astride Fogo, failed to complete the race. “Malaysia was also crowned ‘The Best Team,’ as we were the only country to have four out of our five riders complete the race,” team chaperone Muhamad Abdullah al Amin told Bernama.
