Kuala Lumpur:The Malaysian Business Empowerment Council (MPPM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assembly of Economy of Uzbekistan to create new business opportunities for Malaysian companies and professionals in Uzbekistan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MoU was signed at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur by MPPM President Prof. Is. Dr. Zam @ Ab. Razak Zamri and Ms. Gulrukh Radjabova, Director of International Cooperation of the Assembly of Economy of Uzbekistan.

The agreement focuses on several key areas, including trade and business, investment, the halal industry, and other sectors like education, Islamic finance, tourism, and cultural exchange. The cooperation will involve business matching, market exploration, joint trade missions, and forums. In terms of investment, there will be collaboration in infrastructure, urban development, and smart cities. The halal industry will see cooperation on halal trade, halal parks, and expertise.

To facilitate ongoing coordination, permanent offices will be established in both countries. The Assembly of Economy of Uzbekistan has appointed Dr. Ali Sher Mohamad, PhD, as its Advisor and Country Representative in Malaysia. MPPM aims to leverage this partnership to transform international engagement into practical opportunities for its members.
