Malaysian Athletes Secure Multiple Medals at SEA Games Thailand 2025

Bangkok: Malaysian athletes showcased remarkable performances at the SEA Games Thailand 2025, clinching several medals across different events. According to BERNAMA News Agency, in wushu, national athlete Clement Ting claimed a bronze medal in the men's changquan-daoshu-gunshu event. Ting achieved a total score of 29.238 points, with individual scores of 9.766 in changquan, 9.706 in daoshu, and 9.766 in gunshu. Indonesia's Marvelo Edgar Xavier took the gold with a score of 29.349, while the silver was secured by Siregar Seraf Naro, also from Indonesia, with 29.246 points. In road cycling, Nur Aishah Mohamad Zubir earned a silver medal in the women's criterium road finals held at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok. The gold medal was won by home cyclist Jutatip Maneephan, and Vietnam's Nguyen Thi That received the bronze. In the same event, Malaysian cyclists Nurul Nabilah Mohd Asri and Intan Suraya Tokiman finished fourth and twelfth respectively. The national men's team trial squad, c onsisting of Muhammad Ameer Ahmad Kamal, Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli, Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan, Zhe Yie Khee, and Muhammad Zawawi Azman, finished fourth, narrowly missing a podium finish. In table tennis, Malaysian paddlers added to the medal tally by winning two bronze medals in the men's and women's team events at Central Westgate in Nonthaburi. The men's team lost to Vietnam 0-3 in the semi-finals, while the women's team was narrowly defeated 2-3 by the host nation. Both teams shared their bronze medals with the Philippines, who also faced setbacks against Singapore.
