Kuala lumpur: Malaysia is hosting its inaugural Medical Tourism Familiarisation Trip for healthcare professionals from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as part of an effort to enhance professional collaboration and expand referral opportunities between the regions. This initiative by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Tourism Malaysia (TM) underscores the increasing demand for Malaysian healthcare services in Central Asia and aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and establish long-term partnerships between medical institutions in Malaysia and Central Asia. According to Nam News Network, the programme, scheduled from 3 to 10 August 2026, involves an immersive study visit for 16 distinguished healthcare professionals. These participants, including practicing physicians, professors, and senior medical specialists from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, will gain first-hand insights into Malaysia's internationally recognised healthcare ecosystem. The visit aims to highlight Malaysia's integrated approach to he althcare travel, providing a comprehensive understanding of its healthcare services.
