Amman: The foreign ministers of the Arab Ministerial Committee have emphasized the urgency of confronting Israeli policies that aim to alter the Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity of occupied Jerusalem. The committee's meeting in Amman expressed a unified stance against the perceived threats to the holy sites in Jerusalem, reflecting a collective resolve to address these issues. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia. Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, underscored the violations of holy sites by Israel and the restrictions on freedom of worship. He reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is solely for Muslim worship and called for global action against Israeli violations. Palestinian Foreign Minister Farsin Aghabekian Shahin highlighted Jerusalem's perilous situation amid ongoing conflicts and Israeli settlement policies . She advocated for a comprehensive rescue plan to protect Jerusalem's identity and support Palestinian resilience. Shahin criticized the lack of accountability for Israeli actions over decades and highlighted ongoing violations, including attempts to alter the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and targeting of Palestinian institutions. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, warned of the escalation in Jerusalem that threatens to alter its historical and demographic status. He called for a diplomatic campaign to expose these threats. Fahmy emphasized the need for a unified Arab effort to support Jerusalemites and counter Israeli policies. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan urged international intervention to halt violations in Gaza and the West Bank, condemning Israeli actions that challenge peace efforts. Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar expressed concern over settlement expansion and escalating violence in the Palestinian territories. Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed A ttaf denounced Israeli plans to undermine Jerusalem's legal status and called for support for Palestinian institutions in Jerusalem. Tunisian Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti emphasized Jerusalem's spiritual and cultural significance, urging collective commitment to protect its identity and holy sites. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty highlighted the critical juncture of the Palestinian issue, warning against further violence.
