Malaysia Stands In Solidarity With Affected Middle East Communities Amid US-Israel-Iran Conflict

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia stands in solidarity with all Muslims and communities in the Middle East who have been affected by the tensions caused by the actions of the United States and Israel in launching attacks on Iran on Saturday. In a Facebook post today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia prays for the well-being of Muslims and all communities affected in the Middle East. He also expressed hope that peace, justice, and stability can soon be restored in the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the US and Israel launched a series of attacks on targets in Iran on Saturday, including Tehran, with reports of civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile attacks on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed in the attack on Saturday morning.

In a separate tweet, Anwar emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire following Israel’s attack on Iran, warning that the Middle East was on the brink of disaster. He urged Israel, the US, and Iran to cease all provocative actions and return to diplomatic discussions. “Any provocative action will only trigger a bigger crisis, undermine regional stability, and risk dragging more countries into a conflict that is difficult to contain,” the Prime Minister stated.

Meanwhile, in an excerpt of his speech included in the same tweet, Anwar described the tension in the Middle East resulting from the US and Israel’s attack on Iran on Saturday as a significant tragedy for Muslims. He reflected on the ongoing hardships faced by people in the region, citing historical and current injustices. “Rarely in human history have so many tragedies befallen the people. Decades of countries being colonized, raped, land seized, continue to happen before our eyes,” he said. Anwar concluded his message with a prayer for strength and protection for all, urging continued support for those defending the principles of truth and justice.
