Malaysia Hosts 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Focusing on Vision 2045

Kuala lumpur: The Honourable Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, chaired the Plenary Session of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) on 9 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. This significant meeting was attended by all ASEAN Foreign Ministers, the Foreign Minister of Timor-Leste as an Observer, and the Acting Permanent Secretary of Myanmar. The event was officially opened by The Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the AMM Plenary served as a vital platform to further ASEAN’s community-building efforts, particularly in alignment with the Vision 2045 framework. The Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all ASEAN bodies to synchronize their activities with ASEAN Vision 2045 to ensure a smooth transition from Vision 2025. He urged the member states to maintain unity and strategic determination in the face of escalating geopolitical tensions and mounting external pressures.
