Malaysia Day 2026 Celebration to Take Place at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching

Kuching: The 2026 Malaysia Day celebration is set to be hosted at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Sarawak, as announced by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil. The decision was finalized during a preparatory meeting with Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is co-chairing this year's Malaysia Day celebrations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the venue was chosen for its suitability in terms of space, closely resembling the PICCA Convention Centre in Butterworth, which hosted the previous year's Malaysia Day celebration. Fahmi shared these details with reporters at the JAPEN@PETRONAS Jalur Gemilang Expression Programme. Preparations for the celebration are reportedly on track, with a follow-up meeting set for August 24 to iron out further arrangements.

In a related announcement, Fahmi revealed that Prasarana Malaysia Bhd will offer 24-hour public transport services to support the National Day celebration in Putrajaya on August 31. This initiative aims to facilitate easier public access to and from the event, marking an improvement over previous years. Additionally, several infrastructure facilities are slated for upgrades to enhance the overall experience for attendees traveling to and from Putrajaya for the National Day event.
