MAHSA Specialist Hospital Embraces Digital Technology to Enhance Patient Care

Bandar Saujana Putra:MAHSA Specialist Hospital (MSH) is incorporating digital technology, clinical expertise, and patient-centered services to offer coordinated healthcare that reaches beyond the hospital setting as part of its smart healthcare approach.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the hospital's chief executive officer and consultant general surgeon, Datuk Dr. Anitha Haniffa, emphasized that the development of the hospital was guided by the need to ensure seamless patient navigation through every stage of their care, from consultations to post-discharge support.

Dr. Anitha noted that establishing a smart hospital necessitates ongoing improvements in daily operations, backed by trained staff, clearly defined responsibilities, and effective processes. MSH, located in Bandar Saujana Putra, Selangor, began its operations on May 19, 2024, with an initial capacity of 250 beds and provisions for future expansion to 500 beds. Its facilities include a 24-hour Emergency Department, operating theatres, intensive care units, and advanced diagnostic facilities.

Among the hospital's digital initiatives is the MSH+ mobile application, enabling patients to manage appointments, access health information, and track billing and invoices. Additionally, MSH secured a four-year accreditation from the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) in March 2026.

Beyond its hospital-based treatments, MSH is developing an integrated healthcare ecosystem that includes specialist services, community care, and home-based support. This includes the MSH+ HomeCare program, which offers nursing and rehabilitation support at home, and the ePharmacy service for medication refills and delivery. Other initiatives include KuUrus for weight management and Food That Cares for dietary guidance.

MSH also supports healthcare personnel's professional development through its Institute of Advanced Healthcare Training (IAHT) and a collaboration with MAHSA University, providing practical training and access to simulation resources.
