Putrajaya: The Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has reported a substantial turnout with approximately 1.5 million visitors, contributing to a direct sales value nearing RM8.7 million as of yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu highlighted the impressive public engagement with MAHA 2026, which commenced last Friday. "As of yesterday, attendance has reached 1.49 million. The attendance of the public has indeed increased, as has the number of vehicles," the Minister stated during a media briefing following the exchange of 14 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at MAHA Trade Days 2026.

Mohamad Sabu expressed optimism that visitor numbers would continue to rise, given that MAHA 2026 is still ongoing and offers a range of activities and exhibitions focused on the agro-food sector. Furthermore, he noted that MAHA 2026 aims to achieve a sales target of at least RM58 million throughout its duration, with plant seed purchases expected to significantly contribute to this goal.

Spanning from August 28 to September 6 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), MAHA 2026 features around 2,000 exhibitors and is anticipated to attract over four million visitors.
