MACC Investigates Alleged Misconduct in RM24 Million National Stadium Project

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is conducting investigations and scrutinising information regarding issues surrounding the evaluation process and implementation of upgrading works at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MACC Strategic Communications Division stated in a report that the investigation was launched following local media reports yesterday and complaints received by the anti-graft agency regarding the matter. The agency emphasized that the issue is currently under MACC's attention for investigation and further action, including scrutiny of related information and documents received.

The MACC highlighted its commitment to seriously addressing claims of corruption, abuse of power, and misappropriation involving public interest and government procurement. The commission expressed appreciation for the cooperation of those with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation to ensure the review process can be conducted thoroughly and professionally.

However, individuals providing information are advised against disclosing details of their complaints to other parties to prevent information leaks that could affect MACC's follow-up actions. Previously, local media reported that a contractor lodged a report with MACC on Tuesday regarding issues in the procurement process for the National Stadium upgrading project in Bukit Jalil. The project is estimated to be worth RM24 million and allegedly involves two tenders linked to preparations for the 2027 SEA Games.
