Putrajaya: A construction company director, holding a Datuk title, has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly submitting documents with false details involving RM1.65 million. The incident is connected to the RM162 million Civil Servants Housing (PPAM) project in Perak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the man, who is in his 60s, was detained at around 5.15 pm yesterday when he arrived at the MACC headquarters to provide his statement. The suspect is accused of committing the offence in March 2025 by submitting fraudulent documents to a bank in order to withdraw approximately RM1.6 million from a RM69 million financing facility dedicated to the project.
The director has been remanded for five days, with the remand period extending until May 11, following the approval of the MACC’s application by Magistrate Siti Roslizawati Mohd Zanin at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court today. MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed the arrest and stated that the case is under investigation according to Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
