Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has wrapped up recording the statement of a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body. This is part of its investigation into the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report concerning Lembaga Tabung Haji.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman stated that the statement was recorded to gather evidence related to allegations of power abuse in the acquisition of shares in two plantation companies, which are valued at around RM370 million.

Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman announced that "today was the fourth and final day of recording his statement. We began at 9 this morning and ended at 6.30 pm." The ex-CFO, along with the company's former chief executive officer, was detained after voluntarily presenting themselves at the MACC headquarters on Tuesday.

The investigation scrutinizes alleged power abuse in the RM370 million share purchase of the two plantation companies, a matter highlighted in the RCI report on Lembaga Tabung Haji.
