Kuala lumpur: The Immigration Department has declared a firm stance against any officers and personnel involved in misconduct, including corruption or abuse of power. The department's director-general, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, emphasized that immediate and uncompromising action will be taken against those found guilty.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this announcement aligns with the department's ongoing efforts to bolster integrity and ensure that all officers execute their duties with professionalism. Datuk Zakaria highlighted ongoing concerns about personnel allegedly involved in activities such as flying passports, counter setting, and the irregular approval of Temporary Employment Visit Passes (PLKS).

Zakaria reiterated the department's zero-tolerance policy during a speech at the department's monthly assembly, emphasizing that repeated warnings have been issued but will no longer be given. The department is determined to take immediate action against any officers involved in such activities.

The hacking of the Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs), particularly concerning the PLKS application and approval process, has drawn significant attention. Zakaria disclosed that initial information indicates the involvement of department officers and personnel in this case. The Immigration Department, in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), is strategically planning to apprehend all those involved and address the issue comprehensively.

Zakaria explained that the department initially refrained from immediate action to gather comprehensive evidence against the masterminds behind the hacking incident. He urged department personnel to uphold integrity and halt any misconduct to avoid facing disciplinary action.

The Immigration Department plans to maintain rigorous monitoring of all transactions to prevent abuse of power. Zakaria expressed hope that recent incidents would serve as a deterrent to others, urging anyone currently engaged in wrongdoing to cease immediately.

Recently, the MACC detained five more Immigration officers suspected of conspiring to hack MyIMMs in connection with unauthorized PLKS applications and approvals. Zakaria previously announced that the department would revoke PLKS approvals identified as part of the syndicate's activities through Ops Crack.
