MACC Chief Commissioner Candidate List Handed to Malaysian King

Pasar tani kekal permas jaya: The list of candidates for the post of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner was presented to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today, announced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He mentioned that the list comprises individuals deemed qualified to lead the national anti-corruption agency.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, while interacting with reporters after lunch and community engagement at Pasar Tani Kekal Permas Jaya, humorously responded to inquiries about the number of candidates submitted for the King's consideration, stating, "There are 120 (names submitted)." He added that the shortlist would remain undisclosed for now and would be announced at a later stage.

A post on the HRH Crown Prince of Johor Facebook page mentioned that Sultan Ibrahim and the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, granted an audience to the Prime Minister today. Yesterday, His Majesty expressed that he would personally select the new MACC Chief Commissioner.

Earlier in the day, Anwar interacted with the local community at Pasar Tani Kekal Permas Jaya, where he took photographs and inspected essential goods on sale. His arrival at 12.33 pm was welcomed by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Pasir Gudang Member of Parliament Hassan Abdul Karim. Anwar then proceeded to Masjid Bandar Permas Jaya to perform Friday prayers.
