Ipoh: Gunung Keledang Charity Club (KBGK) is organizing the ‘Nusantara Charity Dinner With Datuk M. Nasir’ at the Ipoh Convention Centre on May 3. Club president Muhammad Hamzah Md Hamdan said the event featuring the music maestro M. Nasir is being held to raise funds for the Yayasan Bakti Gunung Keledang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the charity dinner, which also received the cooperation of the Ipoh City Council (MBI), will feature several other local artistes. “Our focus is to raise RM800,000 to implement welfare programmes and activities, including assistance to those in need, which have been planned throughout this year,” he said at a press conference today. “The funds collected from this event will also be used, among other things, to help individuals and charitable organisations such as orphanages, old folks’ homes, and others to carry out their charitable work.”

Muhammad Hamzah also stated that his team would like to express their appreciation to the corporate sector, industry, government-owned companies, and individuals who are supporting this fundraising programme by being sponsors. “We have provided 140 sponsored tables priced at RM10,000, RM5,000, and RM3,000, and all sponsorship will receive tax exemptions. KBGK will also select 10 chosen charities as recipients of donations at the dinner event, and we will also make this charity dinner an annual programme,” he added.

Also present at the press conference was Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin. The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, is expected to grace the event with his presence.
