Rembau: A lorry driver and his attendant were tragically killed when their vehicle overturned after swerving off the road at KM 226.3 on the northbound North-South Expressway (PLUS) early today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rembau deputy police chief DSP Azmi Ali reported that the victims, aged 32 and 39, suffered fatal head injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred around 2.15 am.
Investigations revealed that the Mitsubishi Fuso lorry was traveling from Melaka to Senawang. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and veer into the left side of the emergency lane before overturning. Despite the fine weather, the area was poorly lit, with no street lights present.
DSP Azmi Ali stated that the bodies were transported to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Unit for post-mortem examinations. The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
