Linggi Bid Not An Attempt To Avoid Sikamat, Says Aminuddin

Seremban: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has dismissed claims that his decision to contest the Linggi state seat in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election was an attempt to avoid defending Sikamat, saying the move was his own choice. The Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman said he hoped to continue serving the people of Linggi with the same dedication he had shown in Sikamat over the past four terms.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin expressed his commitment to the well-being of Linggi's residents, stating, "Insya-Allah, if I am given the mandate and emerge victorious, I will work even harder and do my very best for the well-being of the people of Linggi," in a Facebook post. Reflecting on his political journey in Sikamat, the State PKR chairman noted that the constituency's residents had witnessed the challenges he faced throughout his four terms as their elected representative.

Aminuddin recounted his experiences in Sikamat, sharing memories of working from a small office above a shoplot with limited resources while in the opposition. Despite these challenges, he and his team managed to raise funds, assist the community, and organize numerous welfare programs. He emphasized that these memories would remain with him.

He also expressed gratitude to the people of Sikamat for their unwavering support during his tenure as their elected representative. Aminuddin voiced his confidence in Nor Azman Mohamad, who has been named to replace him in Sikamat, hoping that he would continue to serve the constituency with dedication.

In the upcoming state election, Aminuddin is expected to face Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate and incumbent Linggi assemblyman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli. Nominations are scheduled for Saturday, followed by early voting on July 28 and polling on August 1.
