LIMA’27, DSA & NATSEC Asia 2028 Gain Global Industry Backing – MINDEF

Kuala lumpur: Lima: The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2027 (LIMA'27), along with the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NATSEC) Asia 2028 exhibitions, have secured early commitments from several leading global defence industry players to participate in the events.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, companies such as Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, RUAG, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Glenair, Team Defence Australia, and Kallman Worldwide have confirmed their participation, while NAICO Malaysia has committed to serving as a strategic partner. The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) stated that these early commitments reflect a growing confidence in Malaysia's capacity to host international-standard defence exhibitions.

The statement from MINDEF highlighted that this development further establishes LIMA'27 and DSA and NATSEC Asia 2028 as premier international platforms for the defence, aerospace, and security sectors. It also creates opportunities for strategic cooperation and supports the growth of the defence industry.

The signing ceremony for participation contracts with international defence companies took place at the Malaysia Pavilion during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 (FIA 2026) in the United Kingdom. The event was witnessed by Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali and Air Force chief General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris.

MINDEF expressed that Malaysia's involvement in FIA 2026 is expected to enhance international participation and elevate the profile of LIMA'27 and DSA and NATSEC Asia 2028. This participation is poised to open opportunities for strategic investments, industry collaboration, and technology transfer, supporting the country's defence industry ecosystem.

The exhibitions are set to continue serving as strategic platforms for Malaysia's defence diplomacy, strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties with international partners. Through these platforms, Malaysia aims to expand strategic dialogue, facilitate capability development, and bolster trust and understanding among defence partners.

This initiative aligns with the aspirations of the Sixth Thrust of the National Defence Strategic Plan (PSPN) to enhance international relations and empower the country's defence industry ecosystem. LIMA'27 is scheduled for April 17 to 20, 2027, in Langkawi, organised by Global Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd, while DSA and NATSEC Asia 2028 will occur from April 17 to 20, 2028, in Kuala Lumpur, co-organised by DSA Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd.
