Kuching: The Landas Azam Kasihnya Warisan 1 has been crowned as ‘Juara Sungai’ in the main category of Perahu Bidar (30 male rowers) at the 2025 Sarawak Regatta that ended today. The team took home the prestigious Sarawak Governor’s Cup along with a cash prize of RM30,000. The competition saw Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) 10 securing second place with a reward of RM20,000, while UDAK 36 claimed third place and received RM10,000. The prizes were presented by Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, in the company of Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Royal Highnesses were joined by Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi. Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was also present at the event. Notably, Abang Johari captivated the audience during the closing ceremony with a jet ski performance as a gimmick before the race commenced.

owing the regatta, the Sultan and Sultanah of Pahang attended the 2025 Sarawak Borneo Craft Festival, which took place along Tebingan Kuching. The festival showcased a variety of regional crafts and was a highlight of the event’s closing activities.
