Labuan: The Labuan Media Practitioner Association has lined up four major events this year, including the return of its flagship Media Night programme after a four-year hiatus.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the association stated that the Media Night, scheduled for April, will serve as a platform to show appreciation to business chambers, non-governmental organisations, government agencies, and the corporate sector for their support and cooperation with the local media fraternity.

Other planned events include the Labuan Geopark Exploration, the Evergreen Singing Competition, and the Labuan Media Golf Tournament. These programmes aim to raise funds for charitable initiatives and support tour-related projects for Labuan media practitioners this year.

The statement further revealed that the Labuan Geopark Exploration will be organised in collaboration with the Department of Federal Territories and Labuan Corporation, while the Evergreen Singing Competition will be held jointly with Financial Park (Labuan) Sdn Bhd. The Labuan Media Golf Tournament will be organised in collaboration with the Labuan International Golf Club.

In addition to these four major events, the association will also carry out several corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes this year, including a gotong-royong at Masjid An-Nur Labuan and a beach-cleaning initiative. The association emphasized that the planned activities reflect its ongoing commitment to strengthening ties among media practitioners, contributing positively to the local community, and promoting environmental sustainability on the island.
