Bangkok: The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) has targeted RM20 million in potential sales among Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives participating in the THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026 exhibition here. THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026, scheduled from May 25-30, is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive food and beverage (FandB) trade exhibition in Asia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin highlighted the significance of THAIFEX-Anuga Asia as a crucial platform for the Malaysian FandB sector to expand their markets globally. He emphasized the potential for securing long-term trade contracts and enhancing the credibility of Malaysian food and beverage products on an international level.
Earlier, Mohamad Alamin, currently on a five-day working visit to Thailand, officially inaugurated the Malaysian Pavilion. Malaysia is represented by one of the largest delegations at the event, with 158 companies participating. The delegation includes KUSKOP, the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry, the Sabah Industrial Development and Research Department (DIDR), and the Malaysian Business Group.
Mohamad Alamin expressed pride in the participation of 158 Malaysian companies, noting their capability, innovation, and competitiveness. He stated that these companies continue to grow globally, strengthening Malaysia's position as a trusted global trading partner. He hopes that participating Malaysian companies will seize opportunities to market their products and penetrate global markets.
KUSKOP is committed to assisting Malaysian companies in expanding their global footprint and showcasing the strength of the country's food and beverage industry. Among the products that received positive responses at the exhibition are durian-based products and various Malaysian-made food seasonings.
