Kuala Lumpur:The Kuala Lumpur rubber market concluded with mixed results on Monday, influenced by the depreciation of the ringgit against the US dollar, as noted by a market dealer.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the market sentiment received a boost from China's central bank liquidity injection aimed at supporting economic growth, along with supply concerns due to seasonal rainfall in key rubber-producing countries.
Despite these positive factors, the gains were restrained by mixed Chinese manufacturing data, weaker sentiment in regional rubber futures markets, and declining benchmark crude oil prices. Additionally, geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia and ongoing trade tensions between the EU and China further pressured the market.
The Thai Meteorological Department has forecasted that Southern Thailand will face more widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain from November 4 to 7. Meanwhile, Japanese rubber futures experienced a decline as lower oil prices and weaker performance in Asian shares affected market sentiment. Oil prices fell by over one percent amid renewed US-Iran peace talks involving Iranian and Qatari officials.
China's manufacturing industry presented a mixed scenario, with the official manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) at 49.3, while the private sector showed expansion in October with a PMI of 52.0. At 3 pm, the price of Standard Malaysian Rubber 20 (SMR 20) increased by 10 sen to 1,004.0 sen per kilogram, whereas bulk latex decreased by one sen to 786.50 sen per kilogram.
