KTMB Expands EMUPlus Service Offering Direct Travel Between Klang and Ipoh

Klang: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has expanded its EMUPlus service to Klang, providing residents of the Klang Valley with a more convenient and direct journey to Ipoh starting this week. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility and travel options for commuters in the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KTMB Group chief executive officer Datuk Azlan Shah Al Bakri announced that the new route includes stops at key locations such as Klang, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, KL Sentral, and Ipoh. This expansion allows commuters in Klang, Shah Alam, and Subang Jaya to board the EMUPlus closer to their areas, reducing the need to rely solely on major stations like KL Sentral.

Azlan Shah revealed that tickets for travel from April 17 to 19 are available, with fares starting at RM45 for a one-way journey, providing commuters with cost-effective travel options. He noted that the EMUPlus service will operate every weekend, during long holidays, and festive seasons, subject to operational needs and planning, to encourage more ridership.

"This initiative by KTMB reflects our commitment to bringing EMUPlus services closer to the people, enhancing intercity connectivity and enriching the overall rail travel experience," Azlan Shah stated. Commuters can obtain more information on schedules and ticket purchases via the KITS Style app, KTMB's official website, or its social media channels.
