Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has announced a commitment to investigate complaints related to prices, supply, and the misappropriation of controlled goods, including the RON95 petrol subsidy, within 24 hours of receipt. KPDN director-general (Enforcement) Datuk Azman Adam emphasized the ministry's dedication to addressing consumer issues promptly and effectively.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Azman Adam highlighted that KPDN received 46,815 complaints in 2024, an increase from over 46,200 complaints the previous year. He stressed the importance of accurate and complete information from the public to facilitate swift enforcement action. Providing clear details such as the specific location and nature of the offense aids enforcement officers in conducting efficient investigations.
KPDN assures confidentiality and protection for those who provide information, encouraging consumers not to fear reporting issues. Azman also cautioned against making cases viral on social media before reporting them to authorities, as premature exposure could hinder investigations by allowing evidence to be destroyed.
To report complaints, the public can use several KPDN channels, including a WhatsApp hotline, the e-Aduan Portal, a Call Centre, and the Ez ADU KPDN smartphone application. Azman underscored the importance of public cooperation in combating the misappropriation of controlled items and ensuring that subsidies reach the intended beneficiaries.
