Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures opened higher on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives on Tuesday, moving against the weaker performance of the underlying cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.30 am, the futures for June 2026 and July 2026 increased by 2.5 points to reach 1,706 and 1,708, respectively. The futures for September 2026 rose by 1.5 points to 1,687, and December 2026 futures added a point to also reach 1,687.
The turnover for the session was recorded at 1,573 lots, with open interest totaling 34,1554 contracts. Despite the initial gains in futures, the benchmark index retreated 5.97 points to 1,694.87 at 9.48 am, following Monday's close of 1,700.84.
