Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher on Thursday, with notable gains across various contract months.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the July 2026 contract gained 3.5 points to settle at 1,683.50, while the August 2026 contract rose by 2.5 points to close at 1,684.0. A 3.0 point increase was recorded in the September 2026 contract, ending at 1,663.50. The December 2026 contract also saw an improvement, climbing 4.0 points to 1,666.0.

Market activity showed an increase in turnover, rising to 5,815 lots compared to 5,574 lots on Wednesday. Open interest also rose, reaching 36,724 contracts from the previous count of 36,179 contracts. Despite the futures market gains, the FBM KLCI index itself fell by 5.97 points, closing at 1,677.64, down from Wednesday's close of 1,683.61.
